Experience a day in the life of a “Distiller”. Make some Corn Liquor Moonshine and enjoy filling your own 5L Barrel. Enjoy the experience yourself, or bring a friend or spouse.
Your day will start early – with the day’s distillation getting started first. Then you will help John Patt work on the fermentations while waiting for the still to “come up”. After you help John with the “cuts”, you get to take a break and we will serve you lunch. Finishing up in the afternoon includes filling your 5L Barrel, which will be placed in the Barrel room by you, to age 9-12 months. Your fee for the workshop includes the appointment to schedule the “bottling” of your 5L Barrel. We will help you bottle it and then you get to take your bottles and your Baby Barrel home!
You will be aging in a 5L White Oak barrel, which should give you a similar taste to a four year aged 55 gallon (225L) barrel, as your 5L barrel will age about 4 times faster.
This Barrel workshop is set up for fun, but your 5L barrel should have about 12-14 bottles (375ml) depending on how long you allow it to age. The longer it ages, the less bottles, due to evaporation of the barrel.
